The weekend of action of the FUFA TV Cup was one not to forget and lived up to it’s billing with shocking results in derbies and late comebacks.
Makerere College ‘MACOS’ vs Mengo S.S opened the tournament on Saturday at the Makerere Main Sports Ground. MACOS opened the scoring in the 8th minute but the visitors restored parity shortly after in the 25th.

Mengo took the lead thereafter in the 34th through Ukasha Ssentamu. The visitors added to their tally sending the game 1:3 into half time. Mengo added a fourth, John Senfuma with his second in the 59th minute and that rounded off the game.
Kiira College Butiki and Namilyango College was the next game of the day kicking off at 4:00 pm in Kiira College. Namilyango was in control at the start of the game and was rewarded with a goal in the 17th minute.

The home team recollected in the second half and soon got the equalizer in the 55th minute through Ernest Olukor. It was a dramatic finish to the game was the home team scored a 93rd minute goal to complete the comeback and secure the victory.
The Busoga derby opened the Sunday fixtures with Busoga College Mwiri hosting Jinja College ‘JICO’. Lone goal from Kigongo Elvis in the 44th minute was enough to hand JICO the victory and an advantage as they await to host Mwiri in the return fixture.

St Mary’s College Kisubi “SMACK” and King’s College Budo closed off the first leg fixtures in Kisubi. Goals in either half from Mahad Mubiru and Griffin Mwesigwa were enough to give SMACK victory and an advantage going into the return leg.
