The semi-finals of the Inaugural Fufa Tv Cup are already heated up as the 4 teams have been cooking and will soon serve “the chef’s special”.

Following an entertaining first round, fans, more so “alumni” from these “traditional” schools have high expectations from their boys and most have embarked on projects to financially and emotionally get behind their teams.

Kiira College Butiki hosts Mengo Senior School in what most expect to have twists in turns in the 2 legs.

Butitki eliminated Namilyango 3:1 on aggregate winning both legs but the most exciting being the last minute winner in the first leg that sent the home fans into a frenzy. They then came and completed the Job in Namilyango with a 1 nil victory.

Mengo on the other hand exerted their superiority against Rivals Makerere College with a 5:1win on aggregate.

Mengo put four past MACOS in their own backyard and the home return leg was just a mere fulfilment of fixtures as they were already in a strong position.

A late second half goal from John Senfuma meant that Mengo complete the double and also sent him to 3 goals, top in the tournament.

The second leg shall be played on Thursday 29th June, 2023 at Mengo Senior School.

St Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) host Jinja College in the first leg on Friday 23rd June, 2023.

SMACK destroyed King’s College Budo, qualifying with 3 nil on aggregate. Smack had finished half the job when they beat their opponents 2:0 at home and they finished the job easily when they snatched a 1:0 victory away, the goal coming in the 16th minute. Budo attack, seemed to be on holiday and they didn’t fashion many big chances.

Jinja College had a rougher ride to the semis as they played Busoga College Mwiri in a Busoga derby. A first leg 1:0 victory away from home was very significant as the second leg was tied at 1:1, JICO getting a second half equalizer.

The second leg of the tie shall be played in Jinja on 30th June, 2023.
