It was a game park tale as the KIU “Rangers” kept the rogue KCCA “Leopards” in shape with a humbling 14 point victory in Game week 13 of the National Basketball League.

The game which tipped off at 7:00 was very much an even contest in the first quarter with both team’s offenses not going “allegedly” due to the cold booting they had been subjected too.

The KIU slightly drifted away from the Leopards in the second quarter gaining themselves a 7 point lead going into half time.

The Rangers went on a rampage in the third quarter outscoring their opponents by 13 points and making it a 20 point game.

The leopards tried to find their way back in the fourth quarter but enough damage had already been made.

Match facts

Amaniyo Rose Mary was having a field day with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 1 assist and was awarded player of the game. She shot 66% FG, 55% 2P and was 100% from beyond the arc.

Perus Nyamwenge was spectacular off the bench dropping 15 points and 1 assist in 19:43 minutes. The other notable performer was definitely Diana Letaru who was poor from the field with 18% FG but countered that by exerting dominion defensively with 13 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Susan Rebecca Anyau of the KCCA leopards was the most impressive on the court with 12 points, 13 rebounds and 1 assist. She shot 85% FG making her the most efficient scorer of the game

Martha Soigi also had a good going for the Leopards with a team high 19 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists.

KIU had a whopping 14 steals compared to 8 by KCCA and this played a big role in their victory.

KIU bench scored 29 compared to KCCA 14 and this went on to sow the quality of depth in their squad.

KIU Rangers have now moved to top of the table with a 10-3 record while KCCA Leopard have a 8-4 record.
