The Namuwongo Blazers survived what would have been a “shock” comeback from D mark Power as they had a resurgence in the fourth quarter though the Blazers were able to weather the storm.

The Blazers started strongly gaining an early 6 point lead to end the first quarter. A very poor offensive second quarter from both teams each just scoring 8 points. This performance left many fans baffled and bored as much had been expected from the Nam Blazers and the Power side as they had fielded their new signings.

An improved performance from both teams in the third quarter saw the blazer extend their lead to 9 and in firm control of the game.

A 3 point shot to start the 4th quarter gave the Blazers a 12 point lead but Power went on a 16:3 run to make it a 2 point game with 1:07 left on the clock. 2 quick baskets from the Blazers made it a 6 point game and Power surely had no way back.

Power had 21 offensive rebounds 6 more than Blazers and this was key to their resurgence. It is reflected in the second chance points as they had 15 compared to Blazer’s 6.

Nam Blazers Center Micheal Makiadi had a stinker of a game with no points on board, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 turnovers, 3 blocks. This was mainly attributed to his “apparent” injury as he was seen limping on the floor the entire game.

Both teams were so poor offensively with the Blazers shooting 28% FG, 15% 3P whereas D mark Power shot 30% FG and only 5% 3P

Soro Geoffrey was the main source of offense for the Blazers with team high 16 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal.

Wadaya Blair was next on the supporting cast with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 steals

Newbies for D mark power both had a fair game. Mpeti Elvis led the team in scoring with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and a block.

Kikomba Ozias on the other hand posted just 4 points, 13 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 blocks. It is to ne noted also that he has poor offensively, shooting 14% FG and a game high 7 turnovers.

Nam Blazers make it 10-4 while D Mark Power make it 5-7.
