Seven’s season in here and the Stone City 7’s which is happening at the Dam Waters, home of last year’s champions Jinja Hippos is underway.

The top teams have all started strong with but the biggest surprise of them all has been the Walukuba Barbarians who topped the group with Jinja Hippos and Plascon Mongers behind them.

Kobs won all their 3 games against Crocs, Elgon wolves and the Impis.

Pirates, as expected won all their 3 fixtures but their was a hiccup as Rhinos had them in chokehold and had to overturn 17:00 deficit and comeback to win 21:17.

Walukuba was the most surprising team, slightly edging the Plascon Mongers and scoring a late second half try against the Jinja Hippos to win botb games. They rounded off the day with a 33:00 victory against Kyambogo to top the group.

The game with the highest stakes was Jinja Hippos against Mongers as both teams were seeking a spot in the Quarter Finals of the Main Cup in winner take all situation. The hosts were able to suffice though, walking away with a narrow 12:7 victory.

The Impis won 2 of their games but fell to Kobs 17:7. They were able to qualify for the next round though and will be up against Walukuba.

The Lady Cranes 1 and 2 are running riot and seem to be unstoppable as they overrun any opponent ahead of them. They will face each other though tomorrow in a bid to determine who is who.
