It was yet another exciting game week which saw Nkumba Lady Marines pick up their first victory of the season, while KIU Rangers won it at the death against Miracle Ravens.

The Magic Stormers opened the Game week on Wednesday with a victory against an A1 Challenge side who had been unbeaten thus far.

It was a tight contest with both teams dominating 2 quarters, but the Stormers finished the job in the final quarter.

The Nkumba Lady Marines took on Nabisunsa in game 2 on Saturday but the High School team were more crafty and ended up with the victory.

Nabisunsa had 4 players in double digits but Tamasha Nsubuga was the stand out with 21 points, 1 rebound and 4 assists. Pennitah Nabakooza led the scoring for Nkumba with 18 points.

The Lady Marines got off the mark in their second game of the game week seeing off Kampala University in a tight and dramatic comeback victory.

A 7:0 run in the final quarter gave the Marines a 1 point lead but the drama and tension grew even more in the last 1 minute as both teams were alternatively taking the lead.

With 10 seconds left, Kampala University has a 1 point lead but a jump shot from Patience Mauso gave Lady Marines a 1 point lead and they went on to win the game.

Jesca Nakamanya (Nkumba) had a double double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. While Kampala University’s Mercy Batamuliza was out of this world posting 20 points, 29 rebounds and 1 assist.

The KIU Rangers survived a scare from Miracle Ravens to remain 100% in the second round.

Having trailed for most of the game, the Miracle Ravens tried to work “miracles” in the fourth quarter and get a comeback but the Rangers were steady and managed to steal the victory at the death courtesy of Perus Nyamwenge Free throws with 19 seconds left.

Perus Nyamwenge led the scoring with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist. Diana Letaru (13pts, 6 rebs, 3 assits) and Racheal Nanyonga (13pts, 7 rebs) also had double digits.

The best player on the floor was Akello Winnifred with 22 points, 21 rebounds and 6 assists.

Angels got their fourth victory of the season against Nabisunsa with their experience getting the better of the High School side.

Tamasha Nsubuga (16 pts,3 rebs) was once again sensational for Nabisunsa but it was Sarah Namale who stole the show with 16 points, 2 assits and a game high 22 rebounds.

Elizabeth Aguti Akol was the primary scorer for Angels with a game high 27 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists and she was named player of the game.
