A team of 12 girls has been named by Fuba to represent Uganda in the FIBA U 16 Afrobasket slated for 13th – 23rd July in Tunisia.
Among those named is Watoto Youngster Alaba Mia Belinda who plays for Watoto in Fuba Div 1. Belinda has been very instrumental in her team’s performances this season and Watoto sits 3rd on the log.
She averages over 10 points and 5 rebounds per game and is among Watoto’s sharp shooters. She brings more skills and flair to the team on top of efficiency.

Kibuli S.S duo Kirwanda Shiphrah and Husna Abubaker Namagembe also made the team with both expected to be among the starters.
Kibuli currently sits 6th with 50% record and it’s on record that the duo has been the heart and soul of the team.

Shiphrah who brings height and strength is among the leagues leaders in points and rebounds. She averages 12.3 PPG, 7.8 RPG and 36.6 FG %.
Husna is among the highest rated Div 1 Guards and she averages 7.5 PPG, 4.5 RPG and boasts with a 44.4 FG %.

Another big star named in the team is Auma Angella who plays for Magic Stormers who currently sit in 2nd position in the NBL.
She averages 10.3 PPG, 3.2 RPG and 3.7 steals per game. She brings to flight experience and leadership to the squad.

The boys will also take part in the tournament after having qualified, edging Rwanda for the Spot last month in Kigali.
The team has already set off for Monastir, Tunisia and the games are set to start on 13th July.
