The relegation battle just tool another twist as the Kampala Rockets lost against KCCA Panthers to even lower their chances of survival.

The Rockets started strongly finishing the first quarter with a 5 point lead. The Panther seemed to wake up in the second quarter getting a 9 point difference and going into half time with a 4 point lead.

The Rockets made 8 turnovers in the second quarter and this gave the Panthers extra possessions thus being able to extend their lead.

The poor form of the Rockets continued in the third quarter, and the KCCA side just took advantage extending their lead even further to 13 points to close the quarter.

The Rockets seemed to wake up in the fourth quarter making it a a 4 point game with 5:57 left. The Panthers just seemed to be out of reach though, going to the line 9 times and utilizing the foul situation effectively.

Match facts

KCCA Panther had 5 players in double digits, Daniel Gaaki (14), Martin Baluma(10) and Emmanuel Odong (12), Gaius Mahamba (12) and Abel Omomgim (10) making an impact off the bench.

KCCA shot 30% FG, 50% 2P while Rockets were 33% and 38% respectively.

They also had 19 steals and 39 bench points compared to 4 and 20 for the Rockets.

Rockets on the other hand had 51 rebounds and a very disappointing 29 turnovers compared to 38 and 17 for the KCCA Panthers.

They had 20 offensive rebounds compared to only 11 for the Panthers.

Gaius Mahamba was the most efficient shooter with 83% FG.

Kur Garang led the scoring charts with 15 points,3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 4 3PM.

Okumu Emmanuel also had a good game with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and a block.
