The Fuba Div 1 returned over the weekend and teams fought tooth and nail to try and get the victories.

The Nkumba marines extended their streak to 10 with the victory against Charging Rhinos. The Marines were in control from the onset and despite a good fight in the third quarter, the Rhinos just couldn’t catch up.

Maye Majok once again the key player dropping 26 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists. Chuol Dut also contributed with 12 pts and 7 rebs. Arop Mahol (9pts, 14 rebs) missed out on a double double.

The Charging Rhinos however got redemption in their second game of the week after their first half humongous performance was enough to edge the Old Tymers who attempted a a comeback in the fourth.

The Charging Rhinos went into the fourth quarter with a 23 point lead and despite lurking in the fourth, that earlier difference proved just enough as it ended in a 6 point game.

Edrine Ekau “the assassin”, led the scoring with 26 points, 61% FG off the bench. He also managed to collect 8 rebs and 3 steals. Wal Deng (12) and David Angubau (10) were on the supporting cast.

The Old Tymers spirited performance in the 4th quarter was attributed to the collective effort by the team. They had 4 players in double digits with Wol Mangar leading the scoring.

Wol Mangar (18 pts, 14 rebs, 2 Blks), Moses Katende (10), Tonny Okello (10), Denis Ochwo (10) and Jeremiah Baruliel with 10 rebs.

Mixed results for Miracle Eagles who won against Makerere on Saturday but didn’t have enough to comeback against the Tropical Royals in Sunday.

Just like in their reverse game, Miracle were shooting lights out, with a 51% FG and 36% 3P. They started the game strongly and and very much were at the helm throughout except for that second quarter when the Makerere side showed up big dropping 27 points.

Edward Ngobi was once again the orchestrator of miracle getting 21 points and dishing out 6 assists. Joram Kato (12), Daniel Yoweri (12) and Erjok Agot were the supporting cast.

Bonus Nagaba dropped 16 for Makerere while Opiyo Marvin (11) and Benjamin Kyazze (12) all had 62% FG.

It was the Free throw struggles that caught the attention of fans most, Makerere with 8/27, 29% while Miracle had 6/20, 30%.

Miracle then couldn’t complete the double as Tropical Royals outclassed them despite a late resurgence in the second half.

The Royals started the game strongly, getting a 12 point cushion at half time. By the time the Eagles woke up, it seemed to be a bit late as they lost out by 3 points.

Joseph Bwaku was a force for Royals with 15 pts, 14 rebs, 4 ast, 3stl while Allan Nandala (18) and Juma Osman were also big contributors.

Edward Ngobi again led scoring for Eagles with 17 points while Junior Wasso (13) and Emokol Innocent (12) were also into the fold.

UMU Flames seem to have lost the fire as they lost their 2nd game in a row, against Entebbe Archers.

The Archers led the game comfortably from start to finish and the Flames just couldn’t catch up. They had offense from 3 main sources in Maximiliano Amos with 18pts, 13 rebs and 85% FG, Umar Hassan (15) and Patrick Martin (12).

The Flames on the other hand had only 1 player who was the main source of offense and defense in Akena Deo with 12 points, 20 rebounds and 5 steals.

The UPDF Ladyhawks reached the triple figure mark for the 2nd time this season as they put Amazon Rhinos to the sword putting 104 past them.

The Ladyhawks were scoring for fun with 4 player in double digits and 36 bench points.

Stella Marris Lunkuse led the scoring with 21 points, Dorah Nakijjoba with a double double, 17 points, 11 rebs, 5 ast and 5 stls. Sandra Asiimwe (18) and Kush Nakazzi (13) also contributed massively.
