The Main Cup Quarter finals of the Tooro 7s was yet another dramatic episode as teams caused upsets.

The Hippos and Impis opened the day and it was so easy for the Jinja side who kept punishing the Makerere side at every opportunity they got.

Quick tries in the first half gave them a big lead and the Impis looked to have lost their spirit in the second half and thus getting nothing on the score board.

Kobs smirked Pirates once again 5:17 and it turned out to be an easy game for them than earlier anticipated.

The Kobs got early tries in the first half, Joseph Aredo selling 2 dummies to to touch down in the corner and Mark Osuna gliding through easily to score the opener.

Kobs soon got another try in the second half to lead the game comfortably and the Pirates surely had no way back, they scored a try of their own at the end but it turned out to only be a consolation.

The Mongers against Rhinos was also a big one as both teams looked evenly matched.

The Mongers opened the scoring, Mark William Lukwago going on the outside to touch down in the corner, the Rhinos however soon took the lead after a brilliant run from Kinyera shrugging off the defender and going all the way.

The Mongers weren’t deterred as they responded swiftly with a another try to close the half with a 3 point lead.

The Mongers got another try in the second half, a lucky bounce once again and the player not giving up on the run, they extended the lead to 17:7.

The Rhinos tried to fight back in back time was against them and despite scoring a try, they couldn’t catch up with the Mongers.

The Buffaloes capitalised on Rams early sloppiness to score 2 tries. The Rams, then got an advantage as the Buffaloes were 2 men down and they were able to capitalise with a try.

It wasn’t done yet as the Buffaloes scored yet another try, brilliantly executed kick by Liam Walker to find speed merchant Aaron Atooke who stabbed the final dagger into the Rams hearts.

The Hippos meet the Kobs and it will be a replay of the Kitgum 7s quarter final. The kobs will hope to get revenge after the Hippos beat them that time around to make the finals.

Hippos on the other hand seek to make another Finals and hopefully win the overall trophy.

The Mongers and Buffaloes all seek to make their first Finale and will both fight tooth and nail to ensure they book their slot.
