National Rugby Sevens Coach Tolbert Onyango has summoned 22 players to the training camp ahead of the Africa Men’s Sevens tournament taking place in Harare, Zimbabwe on 16th-17th September 2023.
The tournament also doubles as a qualifier for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Uganda is the defending champion after edging Zimbabwe in the finals at Kyadondo and will be looking to retain their title.
Among those summoned are players from 8 clubs, 7 local and 1 international.

The biggest surprise was Timothy Kisiga missing out, and it has been reported that he has work commitments.
Michael Wokorach was also not in the squad and rumors have it that he might have stepped away from the national team as it was seen, he handed over his captaincy to Ian Munyani earlier in the year.
Desire Ayera also isn’t in the Team after his sustained an injury at the Stone City 7s in Jinja, the first circuit of the series. His teammate Arnold Atukunda who has also been a sensation in the circuits was unfortunate to get an injury in the last circuit in Tooro and has thus not made the squad.
