The Kyabazinga 7s has unfolded some drama, just as expected but the title hunt is still on.
The Black Pirates have topped their group after cruising with ease past the Elgon Wolves and Kyambogo. Their final group game against the Buffaloes was a tough one as it Timothy Kisiga had to win it with literally the last play of the game.
The other title contenders, the Heathens, were lulled to sleep by the Mongers in the final group game. The Mongers scored 3 quick tries in the first half after a few defensive errors by the Heathens and from their on, they looked to be on their way to victory.
The Heathens pulled one back in the second half but their wasn’t enough time to get more. The result means that Mongers top the group and Heathens finish second.
The Kobs is another side that got themselves a thorough beating in their final group game courtesy of the Jinja Hippos.

The Hippos started really strong, catching the Kobs lurking a couple of times and punishing them as a result. This means that the Jinja Hippos top their group while the Kobs finish second.
The Impis who won just a single game got even worse news after their victory was rescinded for “apparently” fielding a player of another team.
Main Cup Quarter finals
- Walukuba vs Kobs
- Mongers vs Buffaloes
- Hippos vs Rhinos
- Pirates vs Heathens
The Heathens up against the Pirates is the biggest game to look out for because realistic both teams still have a chance to win the Overall trophy.
The Heathens need to win this circuit in order to have a much bigger chance of winning the overall. If they can manage to defeat the Pirates in the Quarter final and the Pirates subsequently lose all their placement games, the calculators will once again come out but it looks very unlikely that the Pirates lose all their games and they may just get the job done at the Quarter finals.
The Kobs will also be looking to seek revenge against the Walukuba Barbarians having lost to them in Tororo after an winning an appeal for Kobs fielding an ineligible player.

The Barbarians however are very confident after being 100% on day one and having won the Mileke-Border 7s, they still have that energy from Tororo.
The Hippos, Rhinos and Mongers Buffaloes games will all be great match ups with the Hippos seeking to defend their Kyabazinga 7s crown.

The race for the Top try scorer award is also still on and Ivan Bulima has created some more gap between him and Ssebuliba while Arnold Ocen and Timothy Kisiga seem to be out of the conversation.

Emily Lekuru has also extended the gap between her and Sarah Kirabo and it looks like Emily will be walking away with the award.
