The Stanbic Black Pirates are officially the Champions of the 2023 Nile Special 7s after the defeated the Heathens in the quarter Finals at the Kyabazinga 7s.

It was a really highly contested game in which the Pirates trailed after Timothy Kisiga was sent to the sin bin.

The Heathens however took the lead at the stroke of half time after a Haruna Muhamed with Timothy Kisiga getting the conversion to fall from deep.

The second half was even more fierce as both teams tried to go for the win, however the game changing moment came after Michael Wokorach was sent to the sin bin for an intentional knock om with less than 3 minutes left to play.

The Pirates then utilized this advantage piling a lot of pressure and the Heathens couldn’t contain. As a result, the Pirates scored 2 quick tries and emerged winners of the 2023 Nile Special 7s pending the semifinals and Finals of the Kyabazinga 7s.

The hosts, Walukuba Barbarians shocked the Kobs, scoring with literally the final play of the game.

The Jinja Hippos also copied from the handbook of the Barbarians, living it late. They also scored the winner with the last play of the game and both Jinja sides will be in the semifinals.

The Buffaloes punished the Plascon Mongers who looked out of sorts for the entire game. They kept making error after error and didn’t really look dangerous at any one point.
