In an action-packed weekend of National Hockey League games on Saturday, fans were treated to a series of thrilling matches from dominating victories to nail-biting encounters as there was no shortage of excitement.
In an impressive showcase of attacking prowess, the Weatherhead Gazelles emerged victorious with an emphatic 6-1 win over Deliverance Church. Goals from Nafuna Sonia (2), Amony Gloria (2),Atim Anita, and Brenda secured the win for the Gazelles, while Atima Vero managed to net a consolation goal for Deliverance Church.

The Weatherhead men marked their return to the top of the table with an impressive 7-0 win against KHC Originals. This commanding win put them level on points with Wananchi at 34 points, but their superior goal difference ensured they claimed first place. The Weatherhead men demonstrated their strength and determination on the field, leaving their opponents no chance to claw their way back.

Wananchi ladies faced Weatherhead Historicals in a game that exemplified the power of resilience and teamwork. Despite being outnumbered on the pitch, Wananchi fought valiantly and secured a 2-0 victory. Goals from Alimo Jolly and Atim Irene sealed the deal for Wananchi, keeping them within reach of the title race. Their spirited performance showcased the true essence of sportsmanship and determination.
In a hard-fought battle, KHC Stallions went head-to-head with Thunders, resulting in an adrenaline-filled 5-3 triumph for the Stallions. The match was a testament to the never-say-die attitude of both teams. KHC Stallions got the upper hand early on when Musoke Dulf found the net in the 2nd minute, but Kizito of Thunders responded swiftly in the 9th minute.
Dulf later doubled the Stallions’ lead in the 24th minute, and Kavuma Stewart added a third, ending the first half at 3-1. The Thunders fought back valiantly, with goals from Mugisha and Sekandi leveling the score at 3-3. However, it was birthday boy Alfred Agaba, the mid-season signing for the Stallions, who proved to be the hero, scoring two late goals that secured the 5-3 victory.
