The JT Lady Jaguars Coach, Sudi Ulanga is still full of hope despite the white Jaguars going down 2:0 to the KIU Rangers.

The Lady Jaguars lost game 1 and came into game 2 with a new mentality and it was showing by the way they started the game.

They led the first quarter by 6 points but a few errors to start the second saw the Rangers make a 9:0 run to take the lead.

The Jaguars however managed to settle and took a 1 point lead into half time.

A more even third quarter ensued but the Jaguars still had a 3 point lead heading into the fourth.

The Rangers made 2 quick 3 point shots after a timeout and took the lead. And thereafter, it was about playing catch up.

In a post game interview, the Coach Sudi Ulanga had mixed emotions about the performance. “We played better on offense, but we are still lacking on defense” he said.

About going 2:0 down in the series, he stated “it’s not over“

“Most of the players we have, they have been in this situation before and they know exactly what to do” he added.

About the errors and correction, he said “it was just a few errors here and there, turnovers at the top, we are going to work on it and come Sunday we shall be much improved”.

Sarah Ageno had a few ideas on how to stop Dorcas Marondera and Mary Amaniyo. “They are very good players and for now, we shall just have to contain them” she said.

She also spoke about belief in her team, “i believe all my teammates are great, they can all drop double doubles”

About their Game 2 performance, she said, ” We played much better than game 1, we applied more pressure and forced a few errors. Our defense and offense was much and if more of our shots got to fall, we could have been having a different discussion”

Positives

Better offense, scored 26 more points compared to game 1.

Much improved defense forcing turnovers. The Rangers registered 23 turnovers.

The defense also forced the Rangers to foul a lot and as a result, Jaguars went to the free throw line 27 times.

Sarah Ageno form back. She had a double double by the fourth quarter and having her in such form, she’s very lethal and destructive to opponents.

Zainah Lokwameri also played well, her ability to pick out her teammates for easy buckets was once again on full display.
