The Uganda Rugby 15’s squad for the Upcoming Victoria Cup has been named and there has been a lot of changes.
The squad named on Sunday has 8 debutants who are majorly youth.

Sydney Gongodyo who had a successful campaign with the Stanbic Black Pirates for both the 7’s and 15’s is among the debutants and one of the most exciting players.
Timothy Kisiga who has been omnipresent in the 7’s team for the past 5 years has also been called up. He missed the last 7’s circuit ( Africa Men’s Sevens) in Zimbabwe due to work commitments but he will be present for the 15’s
Liam Walker after a successful campaign with the Toyota Buffaloes also got a call up and he will be expected to make an impact on the bench.
Kato Nicholas trained with the team in 2022 but never managed to make it. This time round, he will be getting his opportunity. His leadership skills, as exhibited in the Platinum Credit Heathens, will be expected mostly and he may also be making an impact off the bench.
Other debutants include Ssembusi Shakim and Kidega Frank.
Asuman Mugerwa is one of the most experienced players having Captained the side a while back and he will be bringing his leadership in the camp.
Wokorach Michael has also returned to the side after being part of the 7’s team for a while.
His experience and Leadership will also come in handy, more so for the youngsters.
Uganda will take on Zambia on 28th October at King’s Park Arena and the final game shall be on 5th November at the same Venue.
