With just 1 game week left in the regular season of 2023 FUBA Div 1, teams have been left scrambling to fight for positions for the playoffs or to avoid relegation as 6 teams will be knifed.
The league has been made up of 16 teams and FUBA made new changes, effective 2024 season, and these include making Division 1 a 12-team competition. This therefore means that 6 teams will be relegated to Division 2 while 2 will be promoted to the National Basketball league.

The battle for playoff positions also intensified, most teams have already played all their fixtures but there is still chance for other teams who still have 1 or 2 games left.

The JT Jaguars secured top spot after defeating the Nkumba Marines who will finish second.Livingstone and Victoria University complete the top four positions.
UMU Flames and Tropical Royals have 1 more game left while Miracle Eagles has 2. The 3 teams all have a chance to finish 5th and that means the falcons (currently 5th) will have to drop down in position.

The Entebbe knight Riders and Old tymers will neither make the playoffs nor be relegated after finishing 9th and 10th respectively.
The playoffs fixtures shall be determined after the final regular season games on Wednesday but the top 4 have already been confirmed.
For the Ladies, UPDF Ladyhawks went unbeaten the whole regular season and clinched top seed.

Watoto had a chance to finish in fourth place but they lost their final regular season game against last placed Tigers. Nonetheless, they will be playing the Legends in the first round of the playoffs.
