In a pivotal moment of the Africa Olympic qualifiers, the Uganda Hockey Cranes faced off against Zimbabwe in their 2nd group game. The high-stakes match was a rollercoaster of emotions, testing the limits of their Olympic dreams.

Zimbabwe made their mark first, seizing an opportunity with a Penalty corner goal in the 24th minute. The Cranes, refusing to back down, responded swiftly. Colline Batusa became the hero in the 26th minute, converting a Penalty corner to level the score.

The game’s tension reached its zenith when Zimbabwe struck again in the 47th minute with yet another Penalty corner goal, leaving Uganda trailing once more.

Now, the permutations and combinations hold the key to Uganda’s fate towards qualification to the semi final knockout stages basing on the outcomes for gameday 3 fixtures. With one game remaining against the power house of hockey in Africa and hosts South Africa, Uganda sits 2nd with 3 points tied on points with Zimbabwe but a superior goal difference as Nigeria are bottom of the group A log with no points.
