The JT Jaguars and UPDF Ladyhawks are one step closer to NBL qualification for the 2023 National Basketball League after they both advanced to the semi finals after having completed sweeps in the quarter finals.

JT Jaguars as expected’ made easy work of Miracle Eagles but it was the Eagles that started the game with the momentum.

They outscored the Jaguars by 6 points in the first quarter. They soon ran out of the steam and the Jaguars took control of the game in the second quarter thus gaining a 3 point lead at the Half Time break.

An even 3rd quarter happened, but it was the final quarter that was the biggest difference.

Miracle went into panic mode and tried to shoot from distance, things were however not on their side and they managed to make only 2 baskets in the quarter.

The Jaguars capitalized on this and kept punishing the Eagles eventually making it look to easy.

JT Jaguars will face Victoria University (who swept UMU Flames) in the Semifinals and the winner of that series will qualify for the 2024 NBL.

The UPDF Ladyhawks maintain their unbeaten run after easily running down the Amazon Rhinos.

The Ladyhawks continued with their High Press tactic and it proved to work greatly as they forced 31 turnovers.

They also had contributions from all the players on the bench but Kush Nakazzi stood out most with 20 points, 2 rebounds in 18 minutes.

Stella Marris Lunkuse (11 points, 8 rebounds, 1 ast, 1 stl) and Linda Michelle Aber (12 points, 2 rebounds) also made significant contributions.

UPDF will play the winner between Our Savior and Legends who will play each other on Saturday for Game 3.
