In a riveting twist, the national handball super league took center stage at the Police Children’s School court in Kibuli, delivering yet another thrilling spectacle that left fans on the edge of their seats.
Adding a unique flavor to the proceedings, the Uganda Handball Federation entrusted officiation and table work to referee couples recently honed in a rigorous refereeing course conducted in collaboration with the African Handball Confederation (CAHB).

The weekend’s headline clash featured a fierce showdown between UPDF and Prisons, two formidable armed forces teams engaged in a memorable battle that concluded with a narrow 35-32 victory in favor of UPDF.
This win marked a significant breakthrough for UPDF, ending their string of disappointments against Prisons in recent times. The intensity of the match reached new heights as the heavens opened towards the game’s conclusion, subjecting players to a relentless downpour. Notably, Omony, UPDF’s goalkeeper, emerged as the player of the game, delivering an all-star performance between the sticks.

Makerere Handball Club saw the pendulum of success swing in favor of, securing their maiden victory with a commendable 42-36 triumph over the favored Police, who struggled to contain their resilient opponents.
It still remains unclear whether we should owe this top-notch performance to Makerere’s involvement in the MMUST Handball Jamboree in Kakamega, Kenya or the presence of their head coach Hannington Musoke who had been away for a while.

In another closely contested affair, Kyambogo battled to a hard-fought 37-33 victory against Uzalendo. Meanwhile, Evergreen faced a comprehensive sanitization from Ndejje, succumbing to a formidable 25-66 defeat.
On the women’s front, Kyengeza endured a 33-38 loss against Kawanda, while UPDF dominated Kyambogo with a commanding 47-23 win. Police (W) displayed their prowess by effortlessly overcoming Prisons with a 31-22 victory, and Ndejje (W) bulldozed their way to a 41-34 triumph against Victoria University. Nkajja showcased their prowess with a 39-34 victory over Kyengeza.
