Watoto showed how good of students they are as they managed to do their homework and pull one back against YMCA.
What most thought would be an easy sweep for YMCA, due to the towering height of their players, has so far showed that skill and preparedness surpasses physical build.
Watoto started with so much intent and closed the first quarter with a 10:0 run to take a 7 point lead.
The momentum pendulum swung in the Hamstars way and during a 1 minute spell in the quarter, the went on an 8:0 run and took a 2 point lead.

YMCA scored the first 11 points of the game and their lead bulged to 12. Watoto fought their way back into the game and made it a 4 point game heading into the fourth quarter.
Njeru Agnes and Amy Grace Chan scored a combined 17 points of 20 for YMCA in the 3rd quarter.
Back to back 3-point shots by Mia Alaba Belinda tied the game for Watoto with 5:37 left.
That seemed to be the turning point of the game and YMCA did not score any point for the next 4 minute. Watoto on the other hand scored 9 unanswered point and took a 9 point lead with 1:14 left.
There was a bit of a scare for Watoto after back to back 3 pointers by YMCA, but they managed to hold on and take the win.

Game 3, the decider shall be played on Sunday at 1 pm and a place in the 2024 NBL is on the line.
