YMCA Lady Hamstars joined UPDF as the 2 women’s teams to qualify for the 2024 National Basketball League but it was Elsy Khaboshe who ran the entire show in game 3 to guide her team to success.

After an altercation during the quarter finals against Lady Jills, Elsy was suspended and missed game 1 and 2 of the Semifinals.

She however was on a mission in game 3 and compensated for all the game time she had missed during the series.

Watoto led the first quarter and Mia Alaba Belinda was causing all sorts of problems. She scored 10 points in the first quarter and Watoto was firing from deep with 4 3-point shots made.

After the introduction of Elsy Khaboshe in the second quarter, YMCA seemed to spark to like out of the blue. Khaboshe scored 10 points in 7 minutes accompanied by 1 assist and 1 rebound. She was the architect of all the attacks by YMCA and she boosted the team defensively. Watoto scored just 2 points in the quarter after her introduction and they both came from the line.

The third quarter was decided on the free throw line, Watoto was sent to the line 17 times, scoring 12 of those. YMCA on the other hand was so poor, despite going to the line 16 times, they only scored 6 of those but they still had the edge as they managed to score from the Field.

With a 14 point lead going into the final quarter, it was going to be a hard ask for Watoto to overturn the game. Akello Scovia and Amy Grace Chan managed to keep YMCA afloat in the fourth quarter, scoring 7 and 6 respectively.
