Kampala Hockey Club, representing Uganda, recently traveled to Blantyre, Malawi to participate in the 34th Edition of the Men’s Africa Cup for Club Champions. The tournament took place from 18th to 26th November and featured teams from various nations including Malawi, Kenya, Egypt, and others. Despite being considered underdogs, Kampala Hockey Club displayed a commendable performance throughout the competition.

The tournament employed a round-robin, one-legged tie format, with seven teams vying for glory. Kampala Hockey Club faced tough opponents such as Sharkia from Egypt, Western Jaguars from Kenya, and Genetrix, Parachute Battalion, and Scorpions from Malawi, as well as Police Machine from Nigeria.

Over the course of six games, Kampala Hockey Club demonstrated their skill and determination, securing 12 points with four wins and two losses. This outstanding performance placed them in the third position overall. Their success meant they would face Genetrix of Malawi in the bronze medal game, as Genetrix had finished fourth in the competition.
