Team Uganda, set to represent at the Upcoming FIBA 3×3 Africa Cup has been named and there aren’t any surprises.
Four teams, U17 Men & Women, Senior team Men and Women, shall all represent in their categories with the aim of qualifying for the FIBA 3×3 Olympics for the Seniors and the 3×3 World Cup for the U17.
U17 Women
- Auma Angel
- Maxine Anyango Modesta
- Belinda Mia
- Namyalo Christine
The four have represented the Country before in various competitions. Auma Angel and Modesta Anyango were in the squad during the 2023 FIBA U16 African Championship, were Uganda finished sixth.

Modesta Anyango was among the four players who finished with a double double in the competition and the coaches will be hoping she delivers both offensively and defensively.
Mia Belinda was named in the FUBA Division1 team of the season. She averaged 16.3 PPG, 5.1 RPG and 2.2 APG in Watoto’s run to the semifinals.

U17 Boys
- Kisakye Matthew
- Galiwango Brighton
- Bono Mujuni
- Makmot Victor Aaron
Kisakye Mathew is arguably the most senior player on the squad having represented the Country on 5 different occasions before. In an interview, he talked about the preparation and expectations of the team.
The experience has been nice, the coaches have worked hard on us….. Our goal is to qualify for the U18 World Cup.
Seniors Women
- Ritah Imanishimwe
- Hope Akello
- Shakirah Nanvubya
- Sarah Ageno

Ritah, Hope and Shakira recently returned from the Zone V Championships in Rwanda were the JKL Lady Dolphins finished in 4th place.
Hope Akello was also named the MVP of the 2023 National Basketball League were she averaged 12.4 PPG, 12.3 RPG, 3.6 RPG. Additionally, she was named the top rebounder and best defensive player. The team will be hoping that she shows up in beast mode and help the team achieve glory.

Sarah Ageno was also on the 2023 NBL All-star team and she averaged 13.0 PPG, 11.7 RPG, 3.4 APG. She has been a fire power both offensively and defensively for the JT Lady Jaguars and she has to replicate the same if the team is to have success.
In an interview with 2bob sports, Shakirah Nanvubya talked about thr preparation of the and expectations of the team.
The camp has been really good, we’ve had many sets of playing each other and it has been tournament like.

Seniors Men

The City Oilers trio has just returned from South Africa where they were participating in the Road to BAL. The City Oilers came so close to a perfect tournament but fell short by 2 points in the final against the Cape Town Tigers.
The trio have also been phenomenal from behind the arc and Titus Odeke has been the most outstanding. He revealed this side of his game in the 2023 NBL Finals where he made over 12 3-point shots in the 6 game series.

The players will travel in batches and the first one set off on Tuesday at 6:00 pm. The second batch shall travel on Wednesday.
