Livingstone revitalized in the fourth quarter and completely outplayed the JT Jaguars to make a comeback that saw them win it at the death.

Joshua Namutegere was the hero of the night, giving Livingstone their first lead since the first quarter, after burying a 3 point shot with the shot clock about to expire and with 32 seconds left in the game.

The Jaguars blew a 15 point lead in the fourth quarter, and they were completely clawless and clueless, scoring just 9 points during that time.

Livingstone completed their mission of forcing a game 5 and what a sweet victory it was for them. Despite trailing for most of the game, Stone City managed to keep the faith and it paid off handsomely.

The Jaguars also had one mission, to win it in four and they came so close. They led with 7 points at half time and one could tell they had the game in their hands.

Things became even better for them in the third quarter as they managed to bulge the lead to 15.

Livingstone was fighting hard, keeping within single digits but 3 back to back shots by Benjamin Shango made it a 16 point game and the Jaguars were surely on their way to victory.

The Jaguars seemed to have shutdown in the fourth quarter and they couldn’t get going anymore. Livingstone was surprisingly not scoring as much until the final 4 minutes of the game.

They started to slowly chip away the deficit and it was a 1 point game 1 with 1:44 left.

The Jaguars extended their lead to 4 through Benjamin Shango who scored from the charity strip but Oscar Byomuhangi made it a 2 point game 14 seconds later from the Free throw line.

Joshua Namutegere then produced the magical moment, scoring the 3 point shot that gave Livingstone the lead and ultimately win the game.

Talking points

All the four games so far have been very close, no wonder the series is tied at 2-2.

The JT Jaguars have continued with their struggles in the fourth quarter. In game 4, they seemed to shut down completely, scoring just 9 points and giving away 26. This has actually been the story of the whole series, matter of fact Livingstone have out scored them by 38 in the fourth quarter this series.

The other struggle of the Jaguars has been the 3 point shooting. This being one of their main weapons in the regular season, the JT Jaguars can’t seem to get going in this facet of their game. They have scored 17/80, 21% 3P which is very low compared to their 30+% during the season.

George Agasi, who averages a 14.00 points, 11.2 rebounds double double and arguably the season’s MVP, has been off during the finals. He has averaged 9 points and 9 rebounds yet his teams had needed his contribution more because the shooting has not worked out well so far. This has put a lot of pressure on Benjamin Shango to work even harder and he has risen up to the task scoring a double double in every game and averaging 14.25 PPG and 12.25 RPG.

The biggest difference of the game in game 4 was Diopa Durocher who put worked tremendously in the front court. Having struggled in game 2 and 3 with a total of 17 points and 11 rebounds, he bounced back strong scoring 25 points in game 4 and with an staggering 84% FG.

The free throw line was also a factor in game 4. The JT Jaguars struggled from the line scoring 11/23, 47% while Livingstone did slightly better with 15/22. This will be very key in the decider, game 5 and it will be interesting to see how the teams adjust.
