The 19th edition of the Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) came to a thrilling close on Thursday 21st, December at the prestigious Uganda Christian University, Mukono. The air was charged with excitement and mixed emotions as the awards ceremony unfolded, crowning the culmination of intense competition and sportsmanship.

Amidst the jubilation and elation, Victoria University emerged as a standout performer, claiming numerous medals across various disciplines. The university’s Vice Chancellor, Dr. Lawrence Muganga, graced the event as the guest of honour for the awards ceremony, adding prestige to the celebration of athletic prowess.

Victoria University showcased an outstanding performance, with every team they fielded returning home adorned with well-deserved medals. The crowning achievement for the university was securing a podium finish in the overall women’s category, a testament to the dedication and hard work exhibited by the female athletes. In a field of 26 participating universities, Victoria University’s ladies proudly clinched the overall second position.

The university’s remarkable achievement was further underscored by its fifth overall position among the participating institutions. This exceptional standing sparked waves of joy and jubilation within the Victoria University fraternity. Dr. Lawrence Muganga, visibly delighted during the celebration, remarked on the university’s impressive debut in the AUUS games. “If the university can achieve such success in a few sports on its first outing, one can only imagine the heights we could reach with sustained participation,” he exclaimed.
