Following their third place finish during the 2023 Africa Women’s 7s in Tunisia, the Rugby Lady Cranes qualified to compete in the 2024 HSBC Challenger series for their very first time.

The team will play in 3 different circuits the first being the Dubai 7s from 12th to 14th January.

The second shall be held 2 months later in Montevideo, Uruguay and finally Krakow, Poland will host the final circuit, 18-19th May.

The Squad together with the stuff

The team concluded 2023 on a high after winning the Safari 7s and they will be hoping to carry forward the momentum and shake some tables during the Challenger series.

Today, the squad to represent at the Dubai 7s has been announced and it is more of what was expected with the return of Emily Lekuru being the biggest surprise.

Emily has been one of the most electrifying Rugby players and her exclusion from the squad in the past raised a lot of eyebrows and was attributed to “politics” within the team.
