KIU Titans duo Edgar Munaba and Ahmed Kassa lead the team of the week after putting up stellar performances.

Edgar Munaba was the anchor of the Titans as they blew away UCU Canons in a 31 point game. He scored 21 points, and 17 rebounds and the most impressive stat was the 8/14, 57% FG. He also knocked down a couple of 3 point shots, 3/5 displaying the range of his abilities.

Ahmed Kassa scored 3 crucial shots from beyond the arc in the first game against UCU and he finished with 11 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists.

In the second game against Kampala Rockets, he was the main source of offense as KIU Titans got a back to back 20+ point game. He finished with 22 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and he made just 1 turnover.

Livingstone won their first game of the season against the Kampala Rockets after a 13 point turn around. He led the charges from the front with 18 points and 10 rebounds on 8/13, 61% FG.

In the other two (2) games that the Makerere side played, he put up 12 points, 9 rebounds against Ndejje Angels and 18 points, 9 rebounds on 6/10, 60% FG against KCCA Panthers.

During the Panthers game, he scored 14 points in the fourth quarter as Livingstone tried to fight for a back to back victory.

Our Savior has had a perfect start to the campaign with 3/3 so far. The difference in all these games has been the man himself, Moses Mugisha and he was stellar once again against Ndejje Angels.

He registered 19 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 1 block, and on top of that, he had 7/12, 58% FG.

Ivan Muhwezi was the player of the game as he put up 17 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals as City Oilers blew away Power in their first game of the season.

UPDF Lady Tomahawks continued their fourth quarter momentum from their loss against UCU Lady Canons and it was the 2023 Division 1 MVP who was on top of her game.

She had a Gameweek high 27 points on 12/18, 66% FG, 15 rebounds and on top of that, 4 assists plus 2 steals.

Perus Nyamwenge put on a show with a game high 25 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals as KCCA rocked UCU to sleep. Her presence, together with Sylvester Kazibwe made it very difficult for the Lady Canons guards to make the right and timely plays thus forcing multiple turnovers.

Despite losing by 41 against the UCU Lady Canons, the YMCA Lady Hamstars duo Scovia Akello and Rose Adhiambo were the main talking points after being the only 2 trying to lead their side in the fight.

It was as though, the 2 of them were up against the entire UCU team while their teammates were on a chill. They combined for 86% of the team’s total points, 83% of the team’s steals and on top of that, they each played 32+ mins.

Rose Adhiambo who played the point guard role was running at the Lady Canons defense with so much pace and ferocity. Every time she attacked, it looked as though something was about to happen and defensively, she was very sound registering a season high 8 steals. She finished with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 8 steals.

Scovia Akello was hot from the 3 point line, sinking a season high 6 attempts. She also used her towering height to pick up rebounds, 6 of them being offensive. She registered 22 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks.

In the absence of their star player Sarah Namale, Martha Yikiru took on the burden of being the leader of the team and what a performance from the youngster.

She had a big 15 points, 14 rebounds (8 offensive) double to help guide her team Nabisunsa to their first victory of the season against Kampala University. She added 3 assists and 4 steals the ensure that her team sealed off the victory.
