The UCU Canons and D-Mark Power will be back in action on back of heavy defeats in their previous games.
The UCU Canons got blown away, losing by 31 points against the KIU Titans in a game where Edgar Munaba and Kasereka Tembo owned them, each dropping 20+ points.
The Canons gave away multiple open shots and thus the Titans were able to take advantage of them.
When asked what needs to improve from the previous game against KIU, UCU Canons guard Lwabaga Ibanda said one word “defense”.

“We were playing zone in the first half, and it gave us hard time and most of the time, we gave them open shots and you wouldn’t want to do that when playing zone defense” he narrated on what went wrong defensively against KIU.
Lwabaga also highlighted about the poor offense in that game, he said. “In the previous game we had a very terrible offense and we are trying to adjust”.
Coach Nick Natuhereza also acknowledged the team’s problems show during their previous game, he said
“Its the kind of game where you learn a lot of lessons and as we prepare this week, we are trying to address some of the problems we had”
“Every time you have a game like that, things can not get any worse than that, the idea is to play and be better than Friday” he added.
Some good news for the UCU Canons is the potential return of Jimmy Otim who has been on the sidelines for more than 5 months. The coach gave an update about his potential return.
“He’s much better, back in training and hopefully he will play this Friday”
It is also not a secret that Jimmy Otim got that long injury during a game against Power after a collision with Veteran Isaac Afidra at the YMCA Court. It will be very interesting to see him return against a team he last played in competitive basketball game.

Power was very poor in their season opener against the City Oilers as they got beat by more than 30 points and were restricted to less than 40 points. They will be looking to put the past behind them and bounce back with a first victory of the season.
The two (2) sides last met during the play offs and the Mukono based side managed to win the series 2:1.
Prior to that, the teams were supposed to play in the second round but Power got the victory after UCU turned up in color clashing jerseys and that result meant they had to battle to avoid relegation.
