24 seconds left and James Obrack is sent to the line with a chance of giving the Ndejje Angels a 1-point lead. 

He misses the first but makes the second to tie the game. 

The Rockets with a quick inbound and Chris Shamamba has free lane on his way to the hoop with no defenders present. 

He takes his time and for a moment it looks like he will win it for the Kampala Rockets. 

Captain Cikom Monybai appears from nowhere, sprints and flies towards the rim (just like superman), arriving in time to get a big block, which everyone agrees was the most important play of the game.

The Rockets managed to secure the rebound, but they unfortunately made a turnover with 9 seconds left.

The Ndejje Angels had just enough time for one more attack and the Rockets just had to defend ferociously. James Obrack attacks the basket but misses and Christian Ndibu was present to grab the offensive rebound, make the lay-up and complete the turnaround for the Ndejje Angels

How did we get here?

The Kampala Rockets have had a rocky start to the season, with 3 losses in a row, including giving away an 11 point against lead to lose against newcomers Livingstone. 

The Rockets were intent on getting the job done early in this game and everything was going according to plan in the first half. They scored 30 points in the first quarter (most in a quarter this game week) and they took a 16-point lead. They maintained the grip on the game in the second period and took a comfortable 18-point lead going into the half time break.

The Angels started the third quarter with strongly going on 14-4 run to reduce the deficit to single digits. 

Puati ozias cooled the Angels momentum for a moment, scoring 6 straight points to make it a 14-point game. The third period ended with 70-61 but the Angels were in the groove.

Ndejje Angels finally tied the game with 6:14 left and panic for the Kampala Rockets went into another gear.

From there onwards, it was an exchange of baskets till that magical moment by Captain Cikom Monybai.

Talking points

The Ndejje Angels never gave up on the game. Despite being down by double digits for most of the game, they kept fighting and pushing until the breakthrough moment in the fourth quarter.

Kampala Rockets lack confidence, and it has been there for all to see. They have played well in most of the game but in the second half, things started going out of their hands and they can’t seem to close out a game. If they can a victory under there belt, it could spark something for them.
