The UCU Canons redeemed themselves with back-to-back victories after that humiliating defeat against KIU Titans in game week 2.
They capitalized on Power’s inefficiency restricting them to 18 points in the first half. The Canons took a 14-point lead and they never looked back.
Joel Kayiira put on a show with 13 points, 11 rebounds double double and Peter Sifuma also made a big impact off the bench with 12 points and 9 rebounds.

The Canons started the game strongly against the JT Jaguars, taking a 7-point lead at the end of the first period.
The Jaguars started the second quarter spectacularly, scoring 3 consecutive 3-point shots to tie the game and then taking the lead 30 seconds after a George Agasi jump shot.
UCU Canons weathered the storm and took control of the game, going on a 15:4 run to make it a 9-point game.

The Fourth quarter was a blowout, the Jaguars were toothless while the Canons kept throwing their missiles and hurting the Jaguars.
Just 6 points were scored in the quarter by the Kira boys while the Canons scored 24 to make it a 20-point game.
The Jaguars still had some fight in them despite being down 20 halfway through the quarter. They closed the game with a 9-2 run to finish the game with 65-78.

Talking Points
The return of Jimmy Otim automatically elevates the Canons’ offense. He showed what he can offer offensively against the Jaguars scoring a game-high 20 points in 17 minutes and his Field Goal efficiency was also outstanding, 8/12, 66% FG.
As has been with the Canons, they always rely on the 3-point shots and when they land, any opponent is in trouble. They scored 9/15, 60% 3P, the highest of the season.
They were punished by KIU from beyond the arc and clearly, it was evident that they learned from their mistakes and employed similar tactics against JT Jaguars.
