What promised to be an exciting and very close in a repeat of the 2023 Finals ended up as another easy victory for the 9 time champions as they saw off KIU Titans 72:63.

City Oilers gained control od the game early, establishing a 14 point lead as the first quarter came to a conclusion.

The lead grew even bigger to 19 after Ivan Muhwezi made a buzzer beater to close the first half.

Despite attempts to make a run and cut the deficit to single digits, the City Oilers defense was present making life difficult for the KIU Titans.

The Titans tried to make a comeback in the final quarter, scoring 9 unanswered point but the game was already far gone and the Oilers saw it out to maintain their perfect record, 5/5.

Talking points

The City Oilers put up a stellar performance in the first half and finished off the game very early. Everything seemed to go right for the Oilers in the first half, they scored 20/43, 46%. The second quarter was mega for them, scoring 11 of 18 attempts while the KIU Titans scored just 11 of 39 attempts, 28% FG in the first half.

Both teams passed the ball really well, the Oilers with 21 assists while the KIU Titans had 18.

In the first quarter, there seemed to be a big of grumbling from the Titans bench after Kasereka Tembo made some 3-point shot attempts yet his teammates had been open.
