Kutchi Tigers beat Ceylon Lions by 5 wickets at Lugogo in the 50 over format. The latter won the toss and opted to bat first. Seasonal player Hamu Kayondo top scored for Ceylon Lions with 31 off 49 deliveries culminating to a total score of 200/8 in their 47 allotted overs.

Kutchi Tigers eased into the chase through a well-played innings from Hasin Ashani with a score 81* off 97 deliveries. Kutchi Tigers top Division One after a crucial victory against a fair opponent. 

Tornado Cricket Club had a walk in the park against KC Buddo CC in the morning game. Steven Wabwose the stand-in captain for the day on his debut won the toss and elected to bat first. A blistering opening partnership between the new signings Calvin Watuwa and the skipper saw a hastening 106 runs in just nine overs before the fall of the first wicket.

Wabwose scored a quick fire 68 off 28 balls. The fall of the experienced opening batsmen saw Tornado lose 8 wickets for a paltry 43 runs. The damage was done despite KC Buddo restricting them to only 174/10 in 19.1 overs. Never at one point in the chase did Buddo get going as wickets kept falling. Moses Kitara and Uganda U-19 bowler Trevor Alikiriza picked 3 wickets a piece.

The second encounter in the afternoon saw Tornado win the toss and elected to bat first. Tornado scored quickly once again to reach 50 run mark in just four overs for the loss of only 2 wickets.

Wabwose’s dismissal saw another batting collapse for his side, Buddo managing to restrict them to only 119 runs in 16.4 overs. The equation being simple ‘run a ball’, joint leading running in the Championship league scorer Mukasa Rashid scored a brilliant 53 of 33 deliveries to ensure victory for KC Buddo CC by 3 wickets.
