The FUBA Division 1 and 2 tipped off on Saturday 9th March and several interesting fixtures went down.

2023 bronze medalists Legends, started their campaign demolishing new side JT Jaguars Junior.

Hamala Miriam scored 27 points, most coming in the second half and Mbone Brenda added 14. The Junio Jaguars Nankinga scored 8 points, more than half the teams total (15).

Watoto secured their first win of the season after defeating a very poor (offensively)Miracle Eagles. Omara scored a game-high 20 points.

The UPDF Tomahawks made a statement victory, thumping Old Tymers and scoring the highest number of points in the game week (91). Henry Okoth led the scoring with 17 points.

Sommet were no match for the Tropical Royals who managed to see out the win. Despite Amisi Bandera scoring 21 points, his contribution weren’t enough for Sommet. Ssali (15) led scoring for the Tropical Royals with Osman Juma (12) coming second.

UMU FLames closed Saturday with a thoroughly dominant performance against Gulu Hawks. Erik Komagum (23) and Diallo Joshua (17) combined for 40. While Okot Andrew led the scoring for Gulu with 14 points.

Gulu Hawks opened Sunday with their second game of the week, taking on Sommet. It was evident, the tiredness of Gulu having played less than 15 hours ago. Sommet ran away with the victory, Lual K (15), Amisi Bandera (20) and Arama (13) combining for 48. Gulu’s Okot once again dropped a team high 14 points.

Makerere Sparks started on a light note, losing to Kibuli S.S. Youngster Shiphrah Kiranda and Kilyoka, who both featured in the Rising Star game on women’s day led the scoring with 16 points each. Ageno Mercy, was an offensive weapon for Makerere with 15 points and Ayak Madalene with 10.

Angels were able to see off the Legends in a very close game that was won on the Free Throw line. Hamala Miriam was unstoppable in the first half scoring 21 points and finishing with 26. Angels’ Peace Kirabo stole the show, dominating the game in the third quarter and finishing with 17 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists.
