The 2nd edition of the Pearl of Africa Women’s Cup kicked off on Friday, March 8th, 2024, at the Lugogo hockey grounds with four schools participating: Kyadondo SS, Gayaza High School, St Julian High School, and Naalya SS.

The tournament started with a round-robin format, and after intense competition, Kyadondo emerged as the top team with three wins out of three games.

They faced off against Gayaza in the final, who had lost one and drawn one, but managed to secure a 2-0 win against Naalya to reach the finals ahead of St. Julian.

In a closely contested final match, Kyadondo secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Gayaza, with Nkoleki Jemimah scoring the decisive goal early in the game. This victory allowed Kyadondo to defend the trophy they had won the previous year.

The MVP of the tournament was Lakica Ruth Patience from Gayaza High School, recognized for her composure and pace that played a crucial role in helping her team reach the final and contend for the title.
