With 30 seconds left, the KCCA Leopards force a turnover and Perus Nyamwenge scores to give them the lead for the first time since the second quarter.
The KCCA Leopards had one job to do, to defend ferociously as they had the lead, yet Miracle Ravens had the possession.
Straight from the time out, Miracle Ravens put the ball in the hands of Brenda Alyano who had been hot from the 3-point line. She pulls up, but the ball just rattles on the rim and out.
Winnifred Akello, who had not been boxed out got the rebound and from that position, she had the last stroke, which gave the Ravens a 76-75 victory.
What went wrong for the Leopards?
From the onset, KCCA did not look very sharp but given their greatness, they found themselves with a 13 point lead with 6:43 left in the second quarter.
Brenda Alyano made 4 3-point shots during the remaining 6 minutes, Akello Winnifred also made 2 more and Miracle Ravens outscored KCCA 26:8 to take a 5 point lead heading into half time.
During the third quarter, the KCCA Leopards knew that they had to stop Raven’s momentum, but they never did justice to themselves, making 7 turnovers and early foul trouble, and Miracle capitalized on that, extending their lead to 10 into the final quarter.

With 7 minutes left, Miracle had a 14 point lead but KCCA went on a rant scoring 13 unanswered points to make it a 1-point game with 78 seconds left.
During their run, they missed multiple easy opportunities at the rim particularly Falidah Kadondi, who had to convert on 2 different occasions but missed from under the rim.
The KCCA Leopards showed a lot vulnerability defensively and Miracle punished them.
The Leopards had 3 players in double digits, but only Perus was firing hard on the offensive end. Margaret Bagaala, Martha Soigi, Uwineza Ninette, and Asinah who always contribute a lot of points were quiet and this ultimately affected them.
Miracle Ravens Gems
For Miracle Ravens, it was all about a team performance defensively and trust in their talisman to score. This strategy worked very well for them, Akello Winnifred and Brenda Alyano had 36 of the team’s 66 Field Goal attempts but they were also very productive, scoring almost 60% of the team’s total points.

However, Lilian Cherotich who has been their anchor defensively made her presence on the court felt, getting 4 blocks and 12 rebounds and most importantly scoring 12 points on 50% FG.
