Ceylon Lions handed Nyakasura CC their first league loss last Saturday. Ceylon won the toss and opted to bowl first. The decision was in their favor as wickets kept falling constantly with Nyakasura batters failing to make long partnerships. Siraje Nsubuga claimed four scalps for just 8 runs in the six overs he bowled restricting them to a team total of 113/10 in 26.4 overs.

Amos Ahura top scored for his side with 23(24). The chase was not as easy as the Ceylon Lions had hoped and lost six wickets during the chase. Charles Musemeza played a patient knock of 26(44) with variable contributions from his teammates to see the Ceylon Lions claim a 4-wicket victory.

Kutchi Tigers beat Wanderers by 145 runs at Lugogo last Sunday. The Tigers won the toss and decided to set a target for the day. Three Kutchi Tigers players scored half-centuries enabling them to post the highest team total of the season of 284/6 in 50 overs. A quick-fire 41 off 17 deliveries from Mitul Pindoriya did more damage.

The chase was never in doubt that it would be hard for Wanderers after their first innings display and only could manage 139/20 in 31.3 overs. Mandeep Singh Mangat top scored for Wanderers with 39 off 40 deliveries. Devendra Khimani claimed four wickets. Kutchi Tigers could have a hand on the league trophy already after their Sunday victory against Wanderers who were also in pursuit of the grail.

Avengers clashed with Tornado in two high stakes matches at Entebbe Cricket Oval last Sunday. Avengers claimed all the four points handing Tornado two heavy defeats. The morning game saw Avengers posting a total of 151/8 after winning the toss and electing to bat. Abiskek Masru and U-19 skipper Christopher Kidega top scored for their side each with 36 runs.

Tornado could only manage a team total of 91 runs thus losing by 60 runs. Avengers decided they would post a total yet more in the afternoon game and managed 137/5 in 20 overs. Tornado fell short once more with 61 runs. These results mean that Avengers are a point away from qualification for the Championship semifinals. 

Jinja SS resumed their cricket fixtures against Rounders CC on Sunday. Both teams shared two points a piece after each winning a game in the day. Jinja SS won the morning game by 3 wickets after chasing a score of 103/7 with five balls to spare.

Magezi Ronald top inspired his team to victory with his score of 42 off 47 balls. Rounders CC won the afternoon game by 89 runs after restricting their opponents to only 27 runs during their chase. Tembo Zubair did most of the damage claiming six wickets. Rounders stay second after completing their group B games.
