Game week 10 was one of the most exciting game weeks with a couple of upsets and ‘arguably’ the game of the season that lived up to its expectations.

The game week tipped off with the UCU Lady Canons taking on the Miracle Ravens. The Lady Canons blew away the Ravens in the second quarter to take a 15-point lead into half-time.

Miracle Ravens made a 12-1 run to start the fourth quarter and made it a 9-point game. For a moment the Lady Canons looked a bit shaken up but they came back in the game and finished with a 11-3 run to win the game.

Brenda Alyano and Hajara Najjuko each scored 18 points while Bridget Aber (11 pts, 15 reb) and Lilian Cherotich (10 pts, 13 rebs, 5 blk) had a double-double.

The Lady Canons returned to action on Friday and they managed to grind out a victory against A1 Challenge.

The A1 had a 9-point lead after the first quarter but progressively declined, scoring just 5 points in the final quarter. The UCU Canons on other hand started slowly and the momentum grew as the game went on. They scored 24 points compared to 5 for A1 in the fourth quarter and took a 42:56 victory.

A1’s Stella Kiberenge was on top of her game with 12 points, a game high 18 rebounds and 3 steals. The Lady Canons had points across the board with Shillah Lamunu (11), Bridget Aber (15) and Shakirah Nanvubya (14) scoring double digits.

The City Oilers got the job done against the JT Jaguars who had proved a tough nut to crack.

The Jaguars trailed by 6 to start the final quarter but the City Oilers who still had a lot in their tank blew them away, 8-22 to finish the game with a 20-point difference.

George Agasi had his best performance of the season dropping a game-high 17 points and 13 rebounds off the bench. Jimmy Enabu scored the first 10 points of the game for thr Oilers snd he finished with 17.

The JT Jaguars had their second game of the week against the Kampala Rockets and it went down to the wire. Having trailed by 15 halfway in the final quarter, the Rockets went rogue scoring 15-1 to tie the game with 54 seconds left. However, the Jaguars weathered the storm and saw out the victory.

Bwana Victor and Were Mark came with their guns out. They combined for 28 points on 50% FG. Chuma Fadhili went strong on both ends of the floor with 15 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

Rocket’s John Dombo had a season-high 18 points, with 4 3PM. Ola Simon (13) and Samuel Garang (10) also contributed massively.

Kampala Rockets finished round 1 with a single victory, the worst in the Men’s this season.

The KIU Titans returned to action after about a month and they continued from where they had stopped. Livingstone had their moment to shine, taking a 7-point lead after the first quarter. From there onwards, it was one way traffic and the Titans didn’t not let their foot off the gas till the final whistle, winning it 86-56.

Joel Lukoji led the scoring with 21 points. Stanley Mugerwa (13 pts, 10 reb, 4 stl, 2 blk) and Livingstone’s Bismarck Okot (11 pts, 11 reb, 1 ast, 3 stl) had a double-double.

The Titans returned to action on Monday and despite trailing by 3 points after the first half against the JKL Dolphins, they had a dominant second half and won the game 62:82.

Edgar Munaba couldn’t be slowed down and he finished with 26 points, 17 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.

Mpiya Juf had a 16 pts, 10 reb double-double while the JKL Dolphins had 3 players with double-digit points. Austin Odiwor (11), Kabangu Clement (12) and Martin Buluma (11).

The biggest game of the season, the KCCA Leopards vs JKL Lady Dolphins lived up to its billing, and it was filled with so much action.

Both teams made multiple runs but the defending Champions had the last laugh, after gaining the final momentum shift and utilizing it to take the lead.

Perus Nyamwenge led the scoring with 27 points but Sylvester Kazibwe was the centerpiece orchestrating everything for the Leopards. She had 13 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, and 4 steals.

Hope Akello was the player of the game, she finished with 20 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. Brenda Ekone was cutting through the KCCA defense with ease in the final quarter and she finished with 22 points.

The Namuwongo Blazers lost their final game of round one to the UCU Canons. The Canons led with as many as 16 but the Blazers brought it to within 4 in the final quarter. The Canons managed to hold them off and take the win.

For the first time this season, the Nam Blazers had no player with 10+ points.

Peter Sifuma was the player of the game with 13 points, and 15 rebounds while Jimmy Otim led the scoring with 17.

The Canons aimed to deliver another sucker punch, this time around to the defending Champions, City Oilers but things didn’t go according to plan.

It was 31-35 at half-time, the Canons within touching distance but they soon ran out of gas. The Canons scored just 25 points compared to Oilers 45 in the second half.

James Okello finished with a game high 21 points with 4 3PM. Tonny Drileba drilled 4 3-point shots and finished with 14 points.

Joel Kayiira and Peter Sifuma both scored 11 points for the UCU Canons.

The KIU Rangers were in full force against Kampala University putting 97 past them.

Ines Kanyamuneza (21 pts), Amaniyo Mary (20 pts) and , Elizabeth Aguti (8 pts) all finished with 100% FG. Additionally, Ines and Amaniyo attempted 4+ from the 3-point line.

Kampala University’s Victoria Nalwanga had another fine performance offensively with 15 points.

The KIU Rangers continued from where they stopped against Nabisunsa and they took a 16-point lead after the first quarter.

Despite Nabisunsa playing better thereafter, the Rangers were too much to be contained, and the game ended 35:63.

Ines Kanyamuneza dropped 24 points with 4 3PM while Mpoza Abigail led the scoring for Nabisunsa with 14 points.

D-Mark Power made it 2 wins in a row after seeing off the Ndejje Angels. After an even First quarter, the 5-time champions peeled away in the sevond, getting a 16-point cushion ahead of the second half.

Despite attempts to comeback in the game, Power held their ground and eventually saw off the game.

Samad Imran finished with a season-high 26 points, plus 10 rebounds. Elvis Mutebi (22 points) and Elvis Ssentongo (16) were both effective in transition and they knocked down a combined 6 3-point shots.

Ndejje Angels had only 7 players getting minutes and 4 of them scored double-digit points. Jonathan Oketch (15), Benon Wobusobozi (16), Cikom Monybai (17) and Nyanzi Mahad (12).

In their second game of the week, Power couldn’t stop a charged up Livingstone in the fourth quarter.

During the final 5 minutes of the games, Livingstone made a 9:0 and took an 7-point lead with 2:17 left.

Despite Power trying to fight back, the foul trouble caught up with them and Livingstone capitalized scoring 5/6 free throws in the final 30 seconds of the game.

Bruce Okullo led scoring with 21 points while Diopa Durocher (14) and Oscar Byomuhangi (13) added more for Livingstone.

Elvis Mutebi had 14 points, Samad Imran (12) and Philip Ameny (11) for Power.
