The Makerere Sparks tasted victory for the first time this season after an easy ride against Seeta High Ladies on Saturday at KIU Court in Kansanga.

After a delay due to the rain, the game tipped off at about 10 past 12 and the Sparks took the game to Seeta from the onset. They got a 9-point lead after the first quarter and never ceased in their pursuit in the second, making it a 15-point game at half time.

It was the same story in the second half and Makerere walked away with 58-24 victory.

For the first time this season, everyone was on the scoreboard and the team was very delighted after Melissa Favor made her first bucket of the season.

Despite the victory, Coach Mavita Ali expressed some serious concerns, particularly the poor free throw conversion. The Sparks went to the line 22 times but managed to convert only 3 of those.

They also had multiple opportunities to finish at the rim but they missed many which should have gone in  easily.

For the first time this season, they had 3 players with 10+ players and this will build a lot of confidence for them as the season goes on.

Mercy Ageno has scored 10+ points in all the games this season showing that she could be their most reliable player offensively.
