The final game week of round one did not offer any shock results but a couple of players had standout performances.

The week tipped off with the defending Champions JKL Lady Dolphins against 2023 Division one Champions, UPDF Lady Tomahawks.

Despite the Lady Tomahawks putting in a shift defensively, the Lady Dolphins found opening particularly in the final quarter and they sealed a 54-71 victory.

Hope Akello was limited to just 12 points but Becky Longom and Brenda Ekone did most of the damage each scoring 16.

Christine Namyalo scored 12 points keeping her streak for 10+ points per game this season. Sandra Asiimwe added 11 points with 3/7 3PM.

The Lady Dolphins were in action again on Friday taking on the JT Lady Jaguars.

After leading the first quarter 21-16, the JT Jaguars went AWOL in the second, scoring just 7 compared to 25 for the JKL Lady Dolphins. The second half was even but the damage in the second quarter was enough for the Lady Dolphins to see off the Kira side.

Evelyne Nakiyinji led the scoring with 14 points while Hope Akello and Flavia Oketcho each scored 11 for the Lady Dolphins.

Brenda Kayaga scored 12 points, all coming in the first half. Ayikoru Wangeshi also got 12 off the bench while Mercy Batamuliza (11) and Annet Among (14) each had 10+ rebounds.

The KIU Titans had 3 fixtures during the Game week and they made no mistake, getting easy wins in all of them.

The Jaguars led the Titans 19-16 after the first quarter but they fell off significantly after that. The Titans played very good defense forcing multiple turnovers and capitalizing from them.

In the second half alone, the Jaguars had 15+ turnovers and the Titans outscored them by 21 in that period.

Edgar Munaba led the scoring with 16 points but it was Denis Tom Omara (13), Collins Kasujja (14) and Brian Opio (10) who made a huge impact off the bench offensively.

Were Mark (10), Ian Lubwama (13) and Benjamin Shango (10) each scored double digits for the Jaguars.

After trailing 35-31 at halftime against Power, the KIU Titans had to dig deep again in the second half to come out with the win.

They outscored power 28:49 in the second half, and 21 points came from 3-point shots.

Mpiya Juf led the scoring with 20 points and 11 rebounds while Ahmed Kassa (12), Collins Kasujja (13) and Brian Opio (10) once again impacted greatly off the bench.

Samad Imran (12 points, 16 rebounds) with a huge double-double and Isaac Afidra (11) and Lemaniku Reagan (12) coming off the bench to score 10+ each.

The Titans closed round one with a bout against the Ndejje Angels. It was one-way traffic from the tip-off, the Titans getting a 21-point lead by halftime and never letting the foot off the gas in the second half.

The Titans had 4 players in double figures. Denis Omara (15), Edgar Munaba (12), Mpiya Juf (13) and Joel Lukoji (13).

Benon Wobusobozi led the scoring for Ndejje with 14 while Jonathan Oketch had 13 including 3 3PM.

The JT Jaguars closed round one with a 59-62 victory over the JKL Dolphins.

The Jaguars gained the advantage after outscoring the Dolphins 7:17 in the second quarter to gain a 12-point lead.

Despite fighting on and taking thr lead with less than 2 minutes left, the Dolphins did not have enough and the Jaguars sealed off the win late in the game.

George Agasi with a very huge game registering 15 points and 19 rebounds. Ian Lubwama with 14 and Were Mark with 12 off the bench.

Martin Buluma and Austin Odiwor both had 13 points and Kabangu Clement finished with 12.

The UCU Canons capped their round one with a victory against newly promoted Livingstone. Despite trailing by 1 at halftime,  the Canons made light work of Stone city in the second outscoring them by 17 points.

It was another big day for Peter Sifuma who had 22 points and 15 rebounds. Lwabaga Ibanda coming in 19 points.

Oscar Byomuhangi dropped a team-high 17 points, while Bruce Okullo and Amara Ariho each scored 10.
