The Magic Stormers started round 2 positively after securing a victory against a fighting UPDF Lady Tomahawks.

Having scored 117 against Kampala University in their final game of round one, Magic Stormers aimed to start round 2 with a victory and having a senior player, in Angellah Zainah Lokwameri making her debut, it would be the perfect start to the campaign.

It was a very slow start to the game, with UPDF scoring just 4 points while the Stormers had 10 in the first quarter.

A much better second quarter ensued, Patience Nantume and Fauzia Namasamba came off the bench and each knocked down 2 triples.

The Stormers ran some quick transitions just like they did in the first quarter and they were rewarded handsomely with 19 second quarter points.

The Lady Tomahawks came out very aggressive defensively to start the third quarter and they managed to force 7 turnovers in the first 5 minutes. They capitalized on the offensive end, making a 9-1 run to make it a 2-point game.

The Stormers took a timeout and thereafter, they started to play better making safe passes and not rushing. They were rewarded with a 10-2 in the next 2:30 and they closed the quarter with a 34-42 lead.

Magic Stormers came out in the fourth quarter and established dominance making a 13-3 run to make it an 18-point game, the highest in the game.

UPDF  made a couple of defensive stops and scored 6 unanswered points but enough damage had already been made by the Stormers and the game ended 43-55.

Both sides return to action on Saturday with UPDF taking on UCU Lady Canons while the Magic Stormers will play the JKL Lady Dolphins

Angellah Zainah Lokwameri made her debut for the Stormers having missed out the first round. She scored  5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in 22 minutes.

UPDF Lady Tomahawks did not have a player score 10+ points in a game for the first time this season.

UPDF starting five combined for just 14 points, on 6/35, 17% FG.

Daphine Adong passed the 150+ points mark. She’s 10th on the top scorers list while her teammate Kur Ajah ranks 5th.
