The Magic Stormers registered their second victory of the second round after defeating the Miracle Ravens 63-71, in a game that was decided in overtime.
Ravens came into the game on the back of 2 defeats and needed to return to winning ways. However, they were without the services of the top defensive player Lilian Cherotich who is still sidelined with injury, and their new signing Hanifah Namuli who has been terrific since making the move to the Ravens camp.
The Stormers took the lead after the first quarter, but they scored just 9 points in the second and Miracle took a 4-point lead heading into the halftime. It was a relatively quiet game in the third quarter, but drama unfolded in the fourth.

The Ravens had a 7-point lead to start the final period but less than 2 minutes into the fourth, it Stormers had an 8:0 run to take a 1-point lead. The game went back and forth in the last 8 minutes and Brenda Alyano scored 9 of the team’s fourth-quarter points including 2 free throws that tied the game and sent it to overtime.
The Magic Stormers had the advantage in the fourth quarter and the Ravens looked too exhausted and couldn’t convert. The Stormers also capitalized on the Ravens foul trouble. They were sent to the line 10 times in overtime, and they managed to score on 7 occasions.
