The Makerere Sparks returned to action of the FUBA Division 1 after a one month hiatus of the league and they despite loss, there were a couple of positives for the team according to the coach.
The Sparks lost to Our Savior Banyabo and it all started with the poor first-quarter performance, Sparks scored just 3 points in the first quarter and Our Savior never gave up their lead after that.

The second quarter was an even performance, 15 a piece but is important to note that Makerere made an 8:0 run to start the quarter. The defensive was locked in but as the game went on, the concentration levels declined and Our Savior made an 11-4 run to close the quarter.
Despite applying some pressure in the second half, the Sparks couldn’t recover and Our Savior won the game 63:40.
Despite the loss, Makerere had a couple of positives.
Given the long periods without playing competitively, it was very difficult to expect the players, who are mostly rookies to come and get a win. However, after a terrible first quarter, they came up huge in the second, mainly defensively after getting multiple stops.
They also managed to get 20 offensive rebounds, which is a very good sign of hustle
