FUBA recognized the Youngsters that represented Uganda at the 2023 FIBA U16 African Championship in Tunisia.
The boys were awarded certificates by FUBA and the FUBA President and General Secretary were honored with the duty of giving out the certificates to the Youngsters.
The boys won the Zone V Qualifiers which were in Kigali and they qualified for the tournament which was to be in Tunisia.
During the Championship, the boys won 1 win in 5 games but they had one of the best players in Joel Rugette who averaged 26.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
The girls put in top performances and they managed to finish 6th having had 2 wins in 6 games.
Modesta Maxine Anyango was phenomenal with 19.2 points (2nd highest), 10.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 5 steals.
Shiphrah Kiranda also averaged a double-double, 12.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 3 steals.
Auma Angela also had a fantastic tournament with 13.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2 assists and 3.2 steals.

Most of the players that were recognized are currently in camp as they prepare for the upcoming FIBA U18 Zone V Qualifiers that shall be starting on 9th June at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.
