The Castle Lite NBL Game week 18 came to a conclusion on Sunday with 5 games at the YMCA Basketball Court.

The bout between the JT Jaguars and the Kampala Rockets was the most interesting one as it was decided in crunch time.

Ian Lubwama missed huge free throws that could have given the JT Jaguars a firmer grip of the game but Ruai Luak did not make the same mistake when it was the turn for the Kampala Rockets.

Ruai Luak made history as the first men’s player to record a triple double this season, with 15 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. Puati Ozias had 15 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocks. Simon ola finished with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist.

The JT Jaguars had 3 players in double-digits, Ian Duncan Lubwama (15), Aaron Eboyu (16) and George Agasi had another double-double with 14 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.

The JKL Lady Dolphins opened the day with a 30-point victory against the A1 Challenge. It was a dominant game for the lady Dolphins for 3 quarters and they developed a lead as big as 40. However, A1 challenge had a wonderful fourth quarter where they scored 17 points compared to 8 for JKL.

Tamasha Nsubuga led the game in scoring with 15 points, Miriam senade with 11 while becky Longom had 10 points.

Faith Apio had 12 points for the A1 Challenge while Stella Kiberenge had 11 points and 8 rebounds.

The UCU Lady Canons enjoyed themselves as they took on Nabisunsa but it was the Rookie Matrina Anyango who impressed the most with 12 points, 18 rebounds double-double. Sisters Sarah Namale and Mpoza Abigail were sensational with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists respectively.

The KIU Rangers returned to winning ways after defeating the Miracle Ravens. The Ravens led most of the game but the Miracle Ravens stayed within touching distance all game long.

Mary Amaniyo put in a very solid shift and she finished with 20 points, 16 rebounds and 3 blocks. Alado Patricia had her best game of the season, 12 points, 15 rebounds in 20 minutes while Ines Kanyamnueza had 17 points.

The Miracle Ravens had 3 players in double digits, Akello Winnifred (17), Brenda Alyano (10) and Isabella Namugabo (10).

Our Savior was fire-fighting in the fourth quarter against UCU Canons but they ran out of time and couldn’t finish all the fires. They trailed by as many as 22 coming into the final period and despite limiting the Canons to just 4 points in the fourth, the damage from the first 3 quarter had been sufficient.

Peter Sifuma had 15 rebounds and 9 points while Lwabaga Ibanda and kayiira Joel each scored 12 points.

Henry Ssebagala led his team in scoring with 18 points while Moses Mugisha had a double-double, 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists.
