After 16 years in the top flight, the Ndejje Angels have called their time in the National Basketball League after officially getting relegated.

Ndejje Angels still had a chance with 3 games left but they needed to win all their games and pray that some other 2 teams to falter in all their remaining games which seemed very unlikely.

Unfortunately, Ndejje Angels did not fulfill the first prerequisite, having lost to KCCA Panthers 90:64 on Wednesday night at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The Angels gave their fans hope for a moment, having lead the game 20:11 after the first quarter but the KCCA Panthers took the game by storm from the second quarter onwards.

To end the first half, KCCA led the game 37:31 and the momentum and heavily shifted to their side.

The situation did not get any better for the Angels in the second half as they were completely destroyed, 52:33 and the KCCA Panthers ending up with a easy 26-point victory.

Ndejje has played 10 games so far in the season, 17 losses for them and 3 wins.

They haven’t won a game in the second round and with the teams around them improving a bit, it was always going to be a difficult task for them to survive this year.

The KCCA Panthers on the other hand are on route to finishing fourth and they are most likely to face the UCU Canons in the quarter-finals during the playoffs.
