Angels Basketball Club bounced back from a loss to Amazon Rhinos two weeks ago to a double win over the weekend.
The Angels were devastated having had a good first half but couldn’t get the game over the line in the second and with this in mind, their focus was razor-sharp heading into the weekend doubleheader.
Their first task was against the Makerere Sparks and despite a shaky performance from both teams, the Angels managed to secure a 41:26 win and this set them up for the following day against the JT Junior Lady Jaguars.

On Sunday against JT Junior Lady Jaguars, the Angels took a 20:53 victory to complete a perfect weekend. The Junior Jaguars put up a good fight forcing 29 turnovers and scoring most of their points from the free throw line. This was however not enough as they succumbed to the pressure defense by the Angels.
All the 12 Angels’ players scored at least a point while only one of them failed to secure a rebound.
The top performer on the squad was Lina Kuol who was Player of the Game for both games having recorded a 12 points, 10 rebounds double-double in the Sunday game and 4 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block against the Sparks.
Other notable players that contributed over the weekend include:
Kirabo Peace 7pts, (5-6 FT), 5 rebs, 3 stl, 1 blk vs JT Junior Lady Jaguars
Annette Nakibuuka 6 pts, 5 rebs, 3 asts, 2 stls vs JT Junior Lady Jaguars
Maria Bikofa was the outstanding player for the Junior Jaguars recording 10pts, 4rebs and 5stls
The Angels improved their season record to 7 wins and 3 losses and are currently in the top 3 with one more game to go in the first round against Buddo Mystiques
