With the 2024 Castle Lite National Basketball League coming to an end, the final seedings have been determined and the stage is set for the quarter-finals.
The biggest surprise during the regular season was Kampala Rockets who had won just 1 game in round one but their performance in round 2 was phenomenal and they managed to clinch the final playoff spot.
However, they will be taking on the nine-time champions and that is probably the hardest match-up they’d hope for.
The City Oilers finished as the best offensive team (78.3 pts) and defensive team, conceding 57 points per game and that record speaks of how dominant they have been.
The Kampala Rockets finished with 1413 points, 64.23 points while they conceded 70.41 points per game.
However, it is important to note that the performance of the Rockets improved drastically in the second round.
They won 7/11 games and their offense improved from 59 PPG to 69 PPG, while their defense improved from 73 PPG to 67.3 PPG.
The UCU Canons and KCCA Panthers will be one of the most competitive games in the quarter-finals.
The UCU Canons and the KCCA Panthers both finished with a 12-10 record but the Canons finished with +4.5 PPG while the Panthers had +2, though they had won the tiebreaker.
The scoring for the KCCA Panthers will be very key as they are 1 of 4 teams who average 70+ points per game. For the Canons, they have been Lukewarm for most of the season and they will be hoping that their top players elevate their levels.

Namuwongo Blazers will be hoping to make the semifinals but they will have to go through Our Savior.
The Blazers finished the season with 3 losses in their final 4 games while Our Savior finished with 3 wins in the last 4.
The Blazers are a far superior team when it comes to offense, they have scored the second most points, 75 points per game and they have conceded 67.7.
On the other hand, Our Savior has conceded more than they have scored and to have a chance, they will need to up their game.
2023 finalists, the KIU Titans shall be facing newbies JT Jaguars. The Titans lost 2 of their final 3 games of the season and they scored less than 50 points in those losses.
The JT Jaguars have the second-worst form in the league as they have lost all their last 5 games.
The JT Jaguars come in this one as the underdogs and it will be an incredible story for them if they take down the KIU Titans and advance to the semifinals.
It is a 3-game series and the opening games shall be Namuwongo Blazers against Our Savior on Wednesday 10th July then the KCCA Panthers vs UCU Canons on Friday 12th.
