2 days after winning the Afro-Varsity 3×3 Basketball Championship, the UCU Canons return to action on Tuesday 30th in the NBL for Quarter-finals Game 2 against the KCCA Panthers.
The Canons stormed the Panthers in game one, winning 80:60 and taking advantage in the series.
They scored 26 points compared to 10 for the Panthers in the first quarter and the latter were playing catch up for the remainder of the game.
In their previous 3 meetings, the Panthers have trailed at half time and despite coming back and winning both regular season games, the trend didn’t continue in Game and of the quarter-finals.
The Panthers shall be out to try and stop the Canons early on and if they can have the lead at half time, maybe they can be able to close out the game.
For the Canons, they shall be looking at getting enough points early on in the game just like they did in game one.
If the Canons win, they advance and take on City Oilers in the semifinals.
For the Panthers, they are looking at securing a win and extending their season to atleast game 3.
