After victories on stop five, the Ugandan women and Algeria Men confirmed their tickets to the 2024 U23 World Cup.
Uganda (women) defeated Algeria 18:14 to advance to the main game and with that result, they had gotten enough points to see them through to the world cup.
In the finals, they took on Benin and once again, the game delivered just like all the previous meetings between the two sides.
With 45 seconds left, Benin led the game 17:14 but shortly after that, the situation turned around.
Benin had amassed 10 fouls and Lydia Babirye was fouled, she made the 2 free throws and Uganda got the possession once again.
Lydia Babirye was fouled again 7 seconds later and she gave Uganda the lead from the free throw line.
Uganda went on to win the game 19:17 and claimed their fourth win out of the five stops played.
In what was a repeat of the stop 4 finale, Algeria’s men defeated Uganda 19:12, and they went on to advance to the main game.
In what turned out to be an easy game for them, Algeria defeated Benin 21:14 and also made it 4 stops won of the five that have been played.
Halfway through the game, Burkina Faso led Algeria 10-4 in the third-place game. However, Algeria made a 9:3 run to tied the game with less than 2 minutes left.
Algeria went on to make a couple of late 2-point shots and they won the game 19:14.
Burkina Faso men got revenge against Uganda as they defeated them 21:16 in the 3rd place game.
